Fixes and improvements to the clubโs stats platform. Spotted a wrong number, a mislabelled player or some dodgy logic? Tell us and weโll put it right โ and log it here.
Report an issue โPlayer cards now show a wicket-keeping line (catches and stumpings) for anyone who kept, alongside their batting and bowling. Keeping appearances now also count towards a player's games total, so long-serving keepers whose old batting cards are incomplete no longer have their turnouts undercounted.
IPL-style caps on the Players page: pick a season and squad and the squad's leading run-scorer gets the Orange Cap and its leading wicket-taker the Purple Cap โ a coloured badge and a tinted card. Choose 'All squads' and it's the whole club's leaders that season. It updates as you change the season or team.
The Top 5 page now has an 'All teams' option to rank players across every senior side together, and a 'Show' menu to list anywhere from the top 5 up to the top 50 in each discipline.
Each player card on the Players page now shows that player's runs, average and strike rate (and wickets and bowling average for bowlers), scoped to the season and squad you've picked. The cards also now count games played rather than batting innings โ a truer measure of how many times someone turned out, since it counts a game even when a player didn't bat.
Pick a season and squad on the Players page and you'll now see a whole-team overview above the player cards: total runs and wickets, with batting average and strike rate and bowling average and economy. Choose 'All squads' for the whole club's figures that season. Strike rate and economy show for seasons with ball-by-ball data.
Scorecards for electronically-scored games now bring the match to life. Where a game was filmed, its scorecard carries a carousel of highlight clips โ every four, six and wicket โ and a Full match tab that plays the club's video (falling back to YouTube where embedding is turned off). Electronically-scored games also show the ball-by-ball: an over-by-over run worm, run-rate and a full delivery breakdown with commentary. Highlights and video are shown for senior matches only.
On the Players page the pills on each card were showing career achievements even when a single season was selected โ so a player's lifetime hundreds and fifties, and duck-board badges such as a duck on debut, appeared under the wrong season. The batting pills, innings count and duck/dishonour badges now reflect the season and squad you have chosen, and only show a badge in the season it was actually earned.
A number of older Captain's Log reports were showing stray draft notes before the report itself. These have been cleaned up and the affected reports rewritten.
The skipper's match reports for our oldest games now read in a period register โ a measured late-Victorian and Edwardian tone for matches up to 1914, and an interwar voice for 1919 to 1953 โ for a touch of historic charm.
Phone numbers and email addresses have been removed from the Join and club pages and replaced with a contact form, so members' personal details can't be harvested by bots.
In line with the club's safeguarding policy we no longer list junior and age-group fixtures on the public Fixtures or Results pages. They remain available to team organisers for planning.
Away fixtures were sometimes showing Linton's weather rather than the ground where the game was actually played. Each venue's location is now resolved from the host club's own records, so the forecast shown matches the real venue.
Where we have pictures in the club gallery, the scorecard for that game now shows a photo carousel, matched automatically by date. The National Village Cup page also carries a carousel from our cup campaigns over the years.
A new Shop section showcasing the club's official range. Every item links straight through to our partner NXT Sports, where you can buy it.
Two new heritage pages. The Founders page marks the club's beginnings on Coxheath in 1787, with the original roll of subscribers and the line of clubs that led to Linton Park. The Memorial page carries a Roll of Honour for the four members who gave their lives in the Second World War.
A new Players section: every player sorted into their squad by season, with a profile you can slice by season and squad โ career and per-season batting, bowling and fielding, feats and milestones, form index /1000, MVP & MVDH worms, a wagon wheel from ball-by-ball data, and how they get out / take their wickets. Auto-generated caps and years of service.
Results where a Linton XI is named as the winner (e.g. โSunday NVKC won by 140 runsโ) were being read as defeats across several boards. Now judged from Lintonโs point of view, so the 1999 NVKC side correctly shows as unbeaten and win/loss records are right.
A score of 0 while out (a duck) was showing as โ0*โ on the new profiles; the not-out star now shows only when the batter was genuinely not out.
The Players and profile pages were shifting left with content cut off on phones. The full-bleed layout and the profile charts now scale correctly to the screen.
